Dealing with the issue of the contemporary refugee crisis while at the same time being deeply rooted in a classical cyberpunk atmosphere à la Blade Runner, NORTH features a dark synthpop soundtrack, a sprawling mega-city and weird monster-like inhabitants.

Planet PlayStationCharles KyleOct 20187.6/10While the game set out to invoke some sort of feelings in people regarding refugees and their plight. I feel that it failed on that message and really was just an unintelligible mess. It just became a walking simulator where weird shit happens unexplained. It seems that their intended message just didn't translate over in to gaming as well as they might have thought it did.

GamePittRob PittFeb 20187.5/10North is both an unusually disturbing game and a very interesting one at the same time. I can honestly say that you will never play another game like this on the current gen of machines, maybe even the next gen. Due to its short length and lack of save/load, this game is perfect if you have an hour to kill and you just want to experience something new and strange – although, go into the game with an open mind otherwise certain things may creep you out.

TheXboxHubGareth BrierleyFeb 20183.5/5 starsIt’s important to have games created like this; games that won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but are happy to push experimentation and storytelling to the limits. Give me more please.

Cubed3Lee MehrJul 20262/10The worst quality of North isn’t its obtuse game design, rough visuals, or jumbled storytelling, but rather the self-aggrandisement encompassing it all. Outlands saw an interesting real-world topic and settled on exploring it through a vacuous, insincere art-house demo.

FourFaceButtonsDavid AedoFeb 20183/10Despite the poor graphics, mediocre music, and ugly overuse of chromatic aberration, North does manage to push its atmosphere well. It's a neat little game to play through but it's far from great; the gameplay is simply not that engaging.
