Rate five things you know, from any shelf. Your archetype shows up in about a minute, and gets sharper with every log.

DayZ is a hardcore open-world survival game with only one rule: stay alive, no matter what. How long can you survive a post-apocalyptic world? A land overrun with an infected "zombie" population, where you compete with other survivors for limited resources. Will you team up with strangers and stay strong together? Or play as a lone wolf to avoid betrayal? This is DayZ, this is your story.

PC GamerAndy KellyDec 201869/100DayZ has the power to create incredible stories, but the twitchy, weightless combat and buggy zombies let it down.

NoobFeedKurtis SeidMay 202280/100DayZ is far less a game and more an open toolkit to make a unique but unpredictable adventure. Some might find an extremely intense survival adventure. Others may feel the mixed excitement, terror, and loneliness of relying on strangers.

CompletexboxJamie TarrenApr 201979/100All in all I’m fairly happy with the full release of DayZ. It captures survival well and has the systems in place to succeed. I struggled to emerge my head in base building and generators due to trying to survive and not having a group to team up with. However, having played PC builds I have a full knowledge on these systems and how the game currently feels with the latest build, which is a slow transition still.

TheSixthAxisJim HargreavesJun 20192/10DayZ has a rich history, a long lineage or war stories and strange survivor tales that have drawn thousands down its rabbit hole, but its reality is very different. There's nothing here but a dull, vacuous wasteland, devoid of character and relying solely on players to make their own fun.

Push SquareLiam CroftJun 20192/10DayZ is a complete and utter disaster on PS4. Not only is it profoundly outdated in 2019, it's also technically inept. A horrendous frame rate brings the experience to a standstill on a worryingly consistent basis, while numerous bugs and glitches are a bewilderment. After taking five years to release, we can't help but feel like this was an outright waste of everyone's time.
