Checkpoint GamingLuke MitchellAug 20249/10The emotional journey that Farewell North presents will likely be a difficult one for many to tackle; the loss of a parent. It handles the subject material eloquently and delicately, offering a tale of companionship between a dog and a human that is the foundation for a heartfelt adventure. Visually stunning and a feast for the ears, this humble story about grief is the most impactful video game experience I've had this year and one of the most enthralling I've ever had the delight of playing. I'll never get over the loss of my Mum. But Farewell North gave me some much-needed catharsis. It just might do the same for you.

Gaming NexusJason DaileyAug 20248.5/10I've never been as emotionally affected by a video game as I was by Farewell North. It's a gorgeous bit of storytelling, flanked by music and art that is just as beautiful. You can see its emotional gut-punch coming, but good luck avoiding it.

NoobFeedJennifer RahmanAug 202473/100Farewell North is a stunning video game that you should play. While I was writing this review, fixes were still going out, so I hope your experience is less rocky than mine, should you choose to play. As someone who mourns the loss of her dog, I could relate to the heart-breaking tale. Farewell North is not the game for you if you are looking for a puzzle adventure game that puts more emphasis on gameplay than it does on the narrative.
