Pure NintendoHeath Shusterman-ZimmermanApr 20208/10My time spent with HyperParasite was a lot of fun. Aside from the difficulty at times, it was enjoyable to take over host bodies. Being able to take over people and use different abilities kept the game feeling fresh. HyperParasite is definitely worth the asking price of $17.99.

Handsome PhantomPhilip NeymanApr 20208.5/10HyperParasite is rogue-lite at its best. Never one to flock to the genre, I kept coming back for more of the hyper action and colorful cast of characters.

Video ChumsA.J. MaciejewskiApr 20204/5 starsHyperParasite is basically the same game as Hellmut: The Badass from Hell but it's still a ton of fun; if not, more so.

TheSixthAxisAdrian BurrowsApr 20206/10There's a lot to like about HyperParasite; bombastic action, smooth gunplay and literally thousands of 1980's pop culture references are all good fun. It's just a shame that its spoiled by an overly punishing roguelite structure, asking you to play thorough the same content again and again to make any noticeable progress, rendering the pacing of the game an interminable slog.

Push SquareSammy BarkerApr 20206/10Local co-op doesn’t really ease the repetition, although your pals will certainly appreciate the pop culture references.
