Coming from Goodreads

Bring your books with you

Taste Buds reads what you’ve logged and learns your taste: across films, series, books, music and games, with the odds you’ll like what’s next. Your Goodreads history comes over in a few minutes, so you start with a profile, not an empty page.

What comes over

  • Books you've read and rated, with the date you finished and your review
  • Your to-read shelf, which becomes your reading queue
  • Read books without a rating, as cards you confirm

How

  1. On Goodreads, open My Books, then Import and export, then Export library
  2. Upload the CSV here
  3. Your books are matched in the background; your taste profile appears as it goes

What Taste Buds adds

  • Films, series, albums and games on the same profile, so your taste is read across all of it
  • The odds you'll like a book before you start it, from what you've rated
  • Half-star ratings
  • Buds: readers whose taste runs close to yours

Worth knowing

  • Goodreads has far more readers and reviews; Taste Buds is new and in beta.
  • Goodreads can take a few minutes to prepare the export file on their side.
  • We only read the file you upload. Nothing changes on Goodreads.

Free, and your Goodreads account stays as it is.
