God is a GeekChris WhiteSep 20189.5/10This is without a doubt the best football game of the year - potentially of all time. With great improvements to how you play, additional modes in FUT, the addition of the Champion's League, and visual enhancements in every mode, you'll find it hard to put the controller down.

WccftechChristian VazOct 20189.5/10I can't think of a single FIFA game that brought about as many big changes to the series as much as FIFA 19 has. EA has used the Champions League/Europa League license to improve the single-player experience, not to mention the use of special cards in FUT. The gameplay is finally at a point where it strikes the perfect balance between fun and realism. There's also much more depth when it comes to customising your team, allowing you to make your squad play exactly how you want them to using the Dynamic Tactics system. To top it all off, local multiplayer has received the biggest update in years with the new House Rules and stat tracking system that you are able to use anywhere. FIFA 19 is by far my favourite football game of all time, and that's really saying something. With so much content available for every type of player, you'd be crazy to miss out on this one.

ForbesBrian MaziqueSep 20189.2/10FIFA 19 is visually stunning, fun and deep. Aside from a few small issues, it delivers the goods and firmly establishes the latest version and the franchise as the one to beat in the virtual pitch wars.

GameplanetToby BergerSep 20185/10While the full-fat FIFA 19 experience delivers in spades, the Switch version feels dated and is lacking in key gameplay improvements — even some from years ago. Unfortunately, it's easily the worst way of experiencing FIFA 19 this year.

Cubed3Justin PrinslooJan 20195/10With initial excitement having died down a few months after the game's release, FIFA 19 stands exposed for what it is: another recycled iteration of a franchise that sorely needs refreshing. Both off the pitch and on it, FIFA 19 is a hollow experience, yet another broken promise and a slap in the face of what we have come to expect from good game development. To truly compete in the gaming arena, FIFA must lace its boots and pull up its socks if it is to achieve what it too lazily sets out to each year.
