COGconnectedErin CastilloJul 201988/100With a few small hiccups along the road that can probably be easily ironed out, and as long as you have patience in abundance, The Blackout Club is a good time.

PlayStation LifeStyleAnnette PolisAug 20198.5/10There's a lot going on in The Blackout Club, and while I haven't seen what the endgame is yet, I am looking forward to playing more of this with my friends. I'm not sold on sacrificing my character to a Voice and starting over just to see my name on the Leaderboards, though. I think I'll stick to offering small tributes when I find myself in possession of them. If you're an avid of Dead by Daylight or Friday the 13th player looking for a new challenge, you might want to spend the $30 and take this game for a spin yourself.

GameSkinnyMark DelaneyJul 20199/10 starsStranger things have happened, but they're rarely as scary or as fun as The Blackout Club, a dynamic co-op adventure that beckons with its bellowing song of hypnosis.

cublikefootClaire FerrinAug 20192.5/10This is not the quality I would expect from a game coming out of Early Access. Sure, the horror mechanics and movement are fine, but the game is far too repetitive in its current state to warrant playing.

PlayStation UniverseJoe ApseyJul 20194.5/10The Blackout Club is what happens when a concept isn't executed well. Everything about the setting and lore should lead the game to be a surefire hit. But, with the lack of a main story path, painfully repetitive levels, and a torturously grindy progression system, The Blackout Club feels unbalanced, unpolished, and immensely unrewarding. The only thing saving it from being a complete waste of time is that communicating and working as a team, planning out your strategy can be enjoyable, although only in short bursts.
