ZTGDAnthony MannJan 20208.5/10Blacksad: Under the Skin is an interesting tale of murder and corruption that presents in one of the best takes on the adventure game formula-multiple endings, choices that really matter, and a cast of characters that are extremely engaging.

DarkstationJukka PiiraNov 20194.5/5 starsIt took about 15 tumultuous hours to see Blacksad’s investigation through, including repeated quick-time events. Years’ worth of reading and watching detective stories didn’t go wasted as I figured out early on who must be the mastermind behind the crimes and in the end, I was really pleased that I got it right. I was happy how my story concluded but there’s a lot of variation how individual scenes or even bigger lines can turn out based on choices you have made along the journey.

WellPlayedAsh WaylingNov 20197.5/10Pendulo Studios have managed to create something that feels unbelievably faithful to its source material, with an admittedly small number of teething problems that really don’t detract from the overall experience

TheSixthAxisAdrian BurrowsNov 20193/10I really, really wanted to like Blacksad: Under the Skin. I love the original graphic novels and just wanted this to be an interactive version of that. Perhaps it could have been, but we're unlikely ever to know thanks to a torrent of technical faults that kill any enjoyment it might give. Pendulo Studios need to urgently fix nearly every aspect of Blacksad: Under the Skin on PS4, and until they do that, this is one mystery best left unsolved.

Checkpoint GamingHailey McKayNov 2019There’s the potential for a good game here, but there’s no internal logic to the storytelling, controls are exhausting, it’s a bug addled mess, and its reliance on shock value and ham-fisted treatment of delicate topics drive me up the wall.
