PCMagDec 20255/5 starsGorgeous, highly entertaining, and a thrill to unravel, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on Switch 2 is the best single-player shooter in years and a triumph for gaming's coolest heroine.

ForbesOllie BarderDec 20259/10Overall, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is worth the wait. The new story characters are not in any way overly chatty, and this is still the mysterious and moody alien treasure hunt Metroid fans have come to love, but now with a funky alien bike. I still rate the original Prime trilogy over this, but those games were pretty much faultless, whereas this is just thoroughly excellent.

Game RantDalton CooperDec 20255/10Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is a beautiful game with some exciting action, but it's otherwise difficult to find many positive things to say about it.

Analog Stick GamingJeff M YoungDec 20254.5/10While Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, on the Nintendo Switch, is a jaw-dropping visual feast that runs incredibly well on the hardware, even in portable play, the foundation the game is built on is anything but a Metroid game. In many ways, this feels like a mediocre Halo game starring our beloved bounty hunter, Samus Aran. What suffers the most is the very linear nature of the game, the vast open desert that feels wasted, and the lack of anything that really cements itself as the originator of a beloved genre. Extremely disappointed.
