CGMagazineAug 202610/10I often struggle to keep up with games due to being an adult and doing adult things, but MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls has unlocked something in me that has me very eager to get back into the competitive circuit and continue to improve.

IGNMitchell SaltzmanAug 20269/10It’s rare when a fighting game manages to tick virtually every box, from excellent fighting mechanics to fantastic teaching tools to a worthwhile story mode and beyond, but Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls comes about as close as a game has gotten since Street Fighter 6.

Checkpoint GamingJarrod HarrisonAug 20266/10MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is by no means an awful fighting game, but this PC version does it no favours. It’s a game held back by shockingly poor optimisation and performance issues that affect everything from menu navigation to gameplay, and while its core Marvel fanbase might not necessarily care, fighting game players like myself do. It will take some time, but until the developers manage to patch everything up, Tōkon is a miss on PC.

ZTGDJae LeeSep 20267.5/10MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is not Marvel vs Capcom and it was never trying to be, despite how desperately many people seem to want it to be. While the issue with inputs, pc performance and a lackluster roster had a lot of people bouncing off the game in the first week of release, I’m glad I stuck around and gave it more time as I’ve discovered that it’s a solid foundation that could become something truly special with a few iterations.
