StevivorSteve WrightOct 202510/10The combination of level- and base-gameplay is really what makes Ball x Pit a joy to play. You’ll either end up with a winning run and get to either progress further down the pit, or you’ll quickly realise that a character needs to be levelled up through more levels, or through careful upgrading of buildings tied to speed, damage, and so on. There’s always something to do, and you’re always progressing in some way.

The JimquisitionJames Stephanie SterlingOct 20259.5/10I’m someone who has a lot of fun playing with balls, so you can take it as high praise when I say Ball x Pit’s been some of the best fun I’ve had with a handful of orbs this year. Combining a block breaker with a survive ‘em up is brilliant, the pinball city building is a giggle, and the inventiveness that runs throughout the entire production is utterly brilliant.

Digitally DownloadedOct 20255/5 starsBall x Pit is a very easy game to pick up and play, though it’s also one where the central gameplay conceit is very much present in the free demo; I could see some gamers bouncing (pun not intended) off it pretty hard, but if the demo intrigues you, trust me, there’s a lot more to come that does get addictive fast.
