Thumb CultureSep 20245/5 starsSquirrel with a Gun is a great stress reliver and a great means to turn off your brain. I had a few of my friends wonder what the game was about. When I told them it’s exactly what it says it is, they seemed almost confused. Then upon seeing the steam page they realised it all made sense. This game just proves there is no such thing as being too silly. Also, I feel like I haven’t used the word “nuts” in this review….I should have said it more…NUTS NUTS NUTS NUTS NUTS NUTS NUTS! There, now all my nuts are on the floor for the squirrels to take and not point a gun at me.

ZTGDTerrence JohnsonOct 20248/10Squirrel with a Gun is a wonderfully charming and hilarious game that offers a unique and engaging experience. The game’s humor and creativity make it a joy to play, and the variety of missions and customization options ensure a high level of replayability. While it has its share of flaws, such as its short length and floaty controls, the overall experience is well worth it for anyone looking for a fun and nutty adventure. (Pun intended)

GameSpotRichard WakelingSep 20244/10Squirrel With a Gun is an intriguing proposition based on name alone, but it's a shallow and unfulfilling game built around a gimmick that loses steam all too quickly.

Checkpoint GamingTom QuirkSep 20245.5/10Squirrel with a Gun has a janky charm, from its crazy attack animations to occasionally ridiculous physics-based challenges. The concept of a platformer where the player character is so tiny that their gun is used to propel them into the air is a clever one that I wish was used in a more enjoyable game. However, despite some occasionally fun challenges and crazy cutscenes, Squirrel with a Gun feels overstretched across its roughly eight-hour playtime, with an overall lack of technical polish that goes beyond funny and becomes frustrating to play. It isn't bad overall and certainly has its fun moments (particularly the boss fights), but the bugs and general jankiness of the experience hold it back from reaching its full potential.
