Video ChumsA.J. MaciejewskiAug 20227.2/10Gale of Windoria is an RPG that's bursting with clever innovations while also featuring some disappointing aspects that sometimes make it a chore to play. I'd love to see a finer-tuned iteration, especially if the impressively strategic Quartz system remains untouched.

Pure NintendoTrevor GouldAug 20225.5/10Overall, Gale of Windoria is one of the more average RPGs I've played. The story is uneven, the battle system options largely unnecessary, and the lack of post-game content makes it an outlier amongst its contemporaries. So while the breezy familiarity can hold some appeal for fans, if you're looking for stuff you haven't seen before, I'd look elsewhere.
