GamingTrendCassie PetersonApr 202490/100This highly addicting definitive edition of The Last Case of Benedict Fox was a blast to explore! The improvements to existing game mechanics as well as the additions of new story content, puzzles, and the arena complete the package, resulting in one of the best Metroidvanias I've played to date.

GamesCreedDaman ShelleyMay 20234.7/5The Last Case of Benedict Fox is one game that, unlike its peers in the Lovecraftian horror genre, doesn’t rely on doom and gloom and instead provides you with a visual feast for the eyes. The game has incredibly simple yet flexible combat that gets brought down by its control mapping, which may get you eaten once or twice.

Game RantCameron SwanApr 20242.5/5 starsWhen playing through The Last Case of Benedict Fox, it's clear that the developer had high ambitions for the project, but none of it really comes together in the end. Combat feels unresponsive, puzzles quickly become tedious, sound design is lacking, the story is hard to follow and delivered with sub-par voice acting, and that's simply too much for some nice lighting and visual effects to paper over, especially when games like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Ultros exist.
