DestructoidChris CarterMay 20159/10Although Swords and Soldiers II has a limited appeal for those of you who like to only game solo, it's a fine strategy title, and a perfect mix of brevity and depth. I'm likely still going to be learning the ins and outs of each army months down the line, which is a really great thing.

Nintendo EnthusiastJonathan HarringtonMay 20158.5/10Swords and Soldier II is a fantastic experience. It is filled with terrific gameplay, beautiful visuals, great music and sound, and laugh out loud moments. The lack of online is disappointing, and there are a few frustrating levels, but all things considered this is a must have for any Wii U owner with an interest in quality experiences – indie or otherwise. It is not a game everyone will love, but if you have even a passing interest in the genre, you owe it to yourself to give this game a second look.

Hardcore GamerBradly StormJun 20154/5Swords & Soldiers II has something to offer RTS veterans as well as those with zero experience with the genre. It's accessible without sacrificing depth, and varied without being needlessly intricate.

GamingTrendJosh DevlinMay 201540/100I was a fan of the first Swords & Soldiers' fiery and rambunctious Viking hordes and their quest for grandeur and grilled meats, and I had high hopes for the sequel, but Swords & Soldier II wound up just being a dusty old lamp with no magic to speak of.

Digitally DownloadedJun 20153/5 starsHandholding aside, and beyond failing to offer something truly above and beyond its predecessor, the multiplayer offerings are superb, and Swords & Soldiers 2 is good, reliable fun. It won't likely be a game you'll remember a decade from now, but as a weekend buster, you could do far worse than this one.
