Created by Sólfar and RVX, EVEREST VR is one of the most spectacular use cases of virtual reality yet. Preparing for your expedition at Basecamp, you will traverse the Khumbu Icefalls, scale Lhotse Face, ascend the Hillary Step, and finally conquer the summit of Everest. You will learn to respect the mountain, you may even survive the encounter. You will leave the experience feeling like you were there.

ShacknewsJason FaulknerFeb 20178/10If you have an Oculus Rift headset and Oculus Touch, I heartily recommend Everest VR as a great way to introduce others to VR or as an awesome trip through the history of the world's highest mountain.

Gaming NexusJohn YanAug 20167/10It's good in spurts and looks incredible. I just wish there was more to do and it's rather expensive for the amount of interaction you have in it. The NVIDIA effects are neat though and the use of multi-res is a great way to get more performance with better graphics.

PlayStation UniverseJohn-Paul JonesOct 20176/10Much more of a streamlined experience than a game, Everest VR provides an intimate and well-crafted perspective on Earth's largest mountain.

DestructoidPatrick HancockAug 20163.5/10Keeping in mind that this experience is $25, Everest VR does nothing but disappoint. While it looks astounding, it's at its best when it isn't trying to immerse the player with "gameplay" segments that only serve to take away from what it's trying to accomplish. If it were much cheaper, or at least longer, it would be a great way to demonstrate VR for someone uninitiated with it. As it stands, it's a lot of money for a paltry few broken moments.
