Digitally DownloadedThere is no doubt that The Caligula Effect 2 is a niche within a niche, and the fact that the second game so closely follows the first just confirms that the developers are comfortable with that. While it might not click with everyone, it's worth trying, because if you do like your games a bit thoughtful and arty, then this is going to be one of the highlights of the year.

8Bit/DigiStan RezaeeDec 20219/10The Caligula Effect 2 better polishes many of the series-defining aspects while also keeping the classic JRPG elements. Daily MirrorEugene SowahOct 20213/5 starsThe story and music are the best standout points with the amazing attention to character development only matched by the genius sound design. Although The Caligula Effect 2 doesn't really sway from its roots or present many new ideas within the genre, if you're a fan of JRPGs, it's a solid title.
