Reventure could be described as a "choose your own adventure" book in the shape of a 2D platformer. It starts out from the classic monomyth premise: "You are a hero, the princess is in danger, go rescue her!" but it quickly gets more complicated than that - until it completely diverges into something completely non-standard.

Pure NintendoJemma CassonNov 20199/10Reventure is a creative take on the adventure-platforming genre. It pokes fun at classic Zelda-isms while providing an enjoyable way to forge your own path by finding all 100 endings to the game. This humorous game makes excellent use of its retro graphics and audio to create something truly unique and downright enjoyable. Check it out!

GameGrinArtura DawnOct 20219/10Reventure plays like a puzzle adventure game that excels at the puzzle aspect and providing a feeling of completion, with very fun gameplay having me doing the dumbest things trying to get an ending. However, it falls short on its story.

NintendoWorldReportJordan RudekOct 20198.5/10Those who thrive on finding every little secret and experimenting with all the possibilities a game offers will fall in love. Players looking for a clear, singular objective or a greater amount of complexity may not enjoy what it brings to the table. Its unique approach to endings, storytelling, and world-building make Reventure one of the freshest experiences in recent memory, and for my money it's a plunge that's worth taking.

Seafoam GamingConnor NicholsDec 20196/10With that being said, the core gameplay loop may be fun for a while, but there really isn’t much of a surprise to some of the endings after a certain point, since a lot of them are obtained by dying, befriending, or killing NPCs. The more creative ones happen to be what produced a laugh out of me, but after a while it grew tiring starting over and over and over again. I kinda feel some more variety would have been much appreciated, and the gimmick wears out far too quickly.
