Hardcore GamerGeoff ThewJan 20153.5/5Splice is a well-conceptualized puzzle game, but it's not as well-executed as it ought to be. Its minimalistic sensibilities end up leaving some important rules unexplained, and they don't quite gel with the type of game Cipher Prime has created.

PlayStation LifeStyleJoey DavidsonJan 20157/10Be warned, you can find the same game on other platforms for a vastly cheaper price. The same experience moves on mobile for $2.99 and on Steam for $9.99.

Push SquareGraham BanasJan 20157/10While it may have been released a couple of years ago now, the newest version of Splice looks and feels like it belongs on the PS4. Its minimalistic looks belie a real head scratching experience, which will push your brain to its absolute limits. It can be a little tricky to get into – and even then, it probably won't be for everyone – but give it a chance, and you'll find a delightfully challenging experience. Plus, if the game stresses you out too much, you can just sit back and listen to the wonderfully calming soundtrack.
